Where are you from?
Manchester (New Franklin) Ohio
What brought you to the area?
I went to high school (Hoban HS) and college (U of A) in Akron. While in college I met husband and decided to embrace the city life and stay.
Where did you go to school?
I attended the University of Akron studying public relations with a minor in marketing.
How long have you been with Ohio Cat?
2 years in March
How did you get started in the industry?
In 2009 there was a deep recession, and I was unable to find a job in my field. I knew someone who worked for Paladin and recommended I get into the industry. I started out as an inside sales assistant. I took on the challenge and adapted quickly to learning the business and 6 months after starting they created an Inside Sales OEM Position for me. I worked there for 7 years before joining the Ohio Cat Rental team.
What brought you to Ohio Cat?
After several years with my company, I was looking to explore other opportunities. I knew a lot about Ohio Cat from being in the industry. I was drawn to the amount of years Ohio Cat has been around and the fact that it is a family owned business. I come from a family that owns a business so I really value that. I love the sense of community that you do not find in a lot of larger corporations. Ohio Cat also really takes care of its employees and I love being a part of that.
What was your favorite part about working the Cat Rental Counter?
I loved the fast pace and coming in contact with several different customers. It is so cool the amazing things they build with our equipment. I look forward to moving out into my territory and connecting with our customers even more!
Do you have a favorite piece of equipment?
My favorite pieces to operate are large wheel loaders and trucks. I may only be 5’1’’ but I love when I get the opportunity to use the big machines. At a Cat machine familiarization class I had the opportunity to drive a Hydrema & a 980 Wheel Loader- I was in my element!
What are your hobbies outside of Ohio Cat?
I love going to country concerts, doing Cross Fit, going to movies, reading, and family outings-I am a step-mom of a 19 year old girl, a 13 year old boy, and a 12 year old girl who I love to spend all the time I can with.
Do you have any pets?
I have a 9 year old boxer/Boston terrier named Kratos and a 4 year old boxer pitbull named Zeus. I am obsessed with giraffes and would totally own one but apparently that is illegal in Ohio!
What inspires you?
My family inspires me to bust my butt every day to provide an enjoyable life. My brother also inspired me growing up-he passed away five years ago but he was always motivating me to work harder and had a smile on his face in any situation.
What is something most people do not know about you?
I have completed 2 backpacking journeys in the Rocky Mountains! Imagine 7 hours in 1 day on horseback going up the side of the Rockies! The trip was 5 days total and the only supplies I had were the ones I could carry on my back.
Favorite place you’ve ever traveled?
My husband and I went on a cruise in Belize City for our honeymoon. We went zip lining through the jungle, and tubbed into Caverns. It was beautiful.
Do you have a bucket list?
Absolutely, it grows every day! I am very adventurous so if it is thrilling I want to do it. I hope to jump out of an airplane skydiving, I want to travel to Italy and see where my ancestors came from, and I will swim with the sharks one day.
